The Different Types of Data Safety
There are many various types of data security, but the main ones comprise: Authentication — The process of confirming that the users accessing your data are who they say they are. This includes passwords, multifactor identification and other methods of identity verification. Encryption – The method of converting data into an unreadable form so that only people with the right keys are able to view it. This safeguards sensitive information in transit and at rest, such as databases, files and email messages. Monitoring – A practice that blocks malicious actors from getting access to or moving data outside of your organization’s networks by blocking or intercepting data at the gateway. This could include data loss prevention (DLP) technology, encryption, and educating employees on the best practices. Backups -The ability to quickly and safely restore data in the event of a system malfunction such as a cyberattack, disaster, or data breach. This is accomplished by creating a backup of the data in a different format, or by storing it in the cloud. Data minimization is the process of storing only the data you need for your business. This decreases your risk since hackers will have fewer targets to target. This can reduce storage costs, and can prevent bloat which could result in compliance issues. types of data safety
