Does faith die in buffy
Faith, along with Angel, came across Nadira and her Slayers struggling to fight off zombified Slayers and Eyghon. They leapt into battle but “Giles” approached Faith, distracting her and leaving an opening. With the help of Nadira, she regained her senses and escaped with the other slayers while Angel stayed to fight off the zombie of Giles. An injured Eyghon escaped, prompting them all to regroup at Alasdair’s; as they escaped, Nadira began to berate Faith for helping Angel again, but Faith quickly silenced her by reminding her of her own reckless actions and that she had endangered herself and the girls by going to Eyghon in the first place. Faith revealed she knew Eyghon’s plan because of her brief moment of near possession. She explained that he wanted to re-create the zombie world kingdom without the magic but to do that he had to make a deal with Whistler, Pearl, and Nash. With this information, the Slayers were given double-edged weapons and Spike arrived under Angel’s request to help fight Eyghon.
Faith arrived to Sunnydale during the start of Buffy’s senior year. Buffy met Faith after witnessing her kill a vampire that she lured in an alleyway by the Bronze nightclub which Buffy and her friends were patronizing. Buffy’s friends quickly warmed to Faith along with her Watcher Rupert Giles and mother Joyce, and Faith claimed her Watcher was currently at the Watchers Retreat in England so she came to Sunnydale in hopes of comparing notes to the “infamous Buff.” As Kakistos followed Faith into Sunnydale, Faith revealed to Buffy what happened to her Watcher and was reduced to fear at facing her Watcher’s killer. However, Faith managed to overcome this with the help of Buffy and finally killed Kakistos.
Faith and Wesley later on would go out tracking down Angelus. They tracked him down to this bar which they found a drug-den for vampires. They took this drug called Orpheus out of the place for later use. Faith would with the information they took from the people within the bar track down Angelus and had a confrontation. While Wesley distracted Angelus, Faith injected herself full of Orpheus. Angelus and Faith had this fight. During that fight, Angelus tried to get into Faith’s head stating how she’s no better than he is. She nearly lost when he finally bit her. But the drug in her veins caused Angelus and Faith to fall into a deep sleep. They had this dream where we see Angel’s past good deeds as well as one evil act Angel committed, even with a soul. Eventually they run into Angel. Angel and Angelus had this fight with a dying Faith witnessing it. Angel convinced Faith while he was in battle with his alter-ego to live. She woke up and she ran down to Angel only to find Connor try to kill him in his sleep. Once again she beat down Connor until Angel wakes up assuring him that he’s back.
Faith Lehane was a Slayer called in 1998 and the last one to be called by the original succession line abolished in 2003. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Faith had a difficult upbringing and life, which left her with various trust and emotional issues. Though she found some stability with her Watcher, the woman was murdered by the vampire Kakistos and Faith retreated to Sunnydale, where she became a friend and ally of Buffy Summers and the Scooby Gang.
So seemingly at the drop of a dime, Whedon decided on Lehane because he wanted “something southie” for Faith. The name has since been considered official canon in all future Buffy the Vampire Slayer media products and was even included in the season eight comic books.

“It would have been a really hard thing to do, and not that I wouldn’t have been up for a challenge, but with it coming on immediately following the show, I think that those would have been really big boots to fill. I think it would have been compared to Buffy.”
Faith is featured in the ongoing comic book, Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Eight (2007–11), which serves as a canonical continuation of the television series. In the storyline “No Future For You”, Faith goes undercover on a mission from Giles to assassinate rogue Slayer Genevieve “Gigi” Savidge, who plans to usurp Buffy’s position as leader to the Slayers. Instead, Faith forms an unexpected connection with Gigi and finds herself torn between her new friend and her old enemy. When Gigi discovers her true identity, Faith unintentionally kills her in battle, and the arc ends with Faith finding a new purpose alongside Giles, helping slayers so they won’t go down the path she and Gigi did. Faith and Giles later reappear over a year later in “Safe”, which recounts one of their missions in Germany. Faith reconvenes with Buffy to face the threats of the villain Twilight in “Retreat”, and is captured alongside Giles and Andrew by Twilight. As such, she is witness to the reveal that Twilight is in fact Angel in “Twilight, Part II”. In the final story arc, “Last Gleaming”, Faith battles in the ruins of Sunnydale alongside other Scooby Gang members and Slayers. Underground however, Angel—possessed by the Twilight entity—snaps Giles’ neck in order to prevent the destruction of its power source; a grief-stricken Buffy destroys it however, Angel is freed from Twilight’s possession, and magic is mostly cut off from the universe. In the final issue, set some time later, per Giles’ will, all of his worldly assets, save a book, have been left to Faith. In Faith’s care is a distraught Angel, whom she intends to rehabilitate.
Robin Wood, now Faith’s ex, led a squad of Slayers at the Hellmouth, in Cleveland. Rupert Giles, head of the revived Watchers Council, contacted Faith to make a deal: if Faith could assassinate an evil British Slayer, one Lady Genevieve “Gigi” Savidge, Giles would arrange for her to relocate permanently to any country of her choosing, with the promise of never having to resume Slayer duties. To get close to Savidge, Giles educated Faith in British formal etiquette and taught her how to speak with a British accent. Faith was largely successful in befriending Savidge, although her disguise as British aristocrat “Hope” was entirely blown when Buffy was summoned by Roden, a Warlock and Gigi’s informal Watcher, for Gigi to kill.
During season eight of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel is possessed by an evil entity known as Twilight and manages to kill Giles while possessed. When Twilight leaves his body, Angel is emotionally shattered and Faith feels obligated to guide him on a road to redemption like Angel did for her years prior.
